Darren J. Wallace's antique musical boxes,phonographs,& cars

Post by phonospud »

Hello to everyone here, old friends, and new collectors alike!

It's taken me some time to rear my ugly head, but I am still very alive and well! For those who don't know me, I've been collecting and restoring antique phonographs, musical boxes and a few brass era, pre-1915 automobiles since I was a teenager, and this year, I hit the big 5 0 !!

I've been a provincially licensed tool and die machinist since 1989. I've restored just about every type of machine from Autophone, to Zonophone and everything in between, including many rare coin-ops.

Between restoring machines for my own collection, I find some time to enjoy playing electric and stand-up bass in various bands made up of long time friends playing 50's & 60's rock and rockabilly. I also drive (almost daily) a couple of century old brass era cars: a 1905 (2 cylinder) Queen, and a 1915 model T Ford touring.

My main passion is restoring the products of the Geneva firm Nicole Fréres, who made high quality cylinder musical boxes from roughly 1815 to 1880.

I am blessed to have a very tolerant wife :)

Please feel free to keep up with me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Darrensmusical ... =bookmarks

Hi Darren - it's nice to see you here! :)

Next time you're in the U.S., let me know. I have a Regina double-comb that needs some damper work.

Happy 2017 to you!

George P.
