Orthophonic 8-9 Record Albums
Can anyone post some pics of the correct record albums for a Victor 8-9, please?

Re: Orthophonic 8-9 Record Albums
I've always been told that they didn't come with albums. I just have the usual Victor albums with the D-ring pulls in mine. Orthophonic albums are too difficult to get out of the slots.

So, you're saying they're pretty rare?
Kind of what I thought I've heard before. Thanks Brandon.

Attached below is a Victor trade announcement of the VV8-9.
Bob
The price did not include albums, but Victor recommended the purchase of the colorful embossed ones to go with it.Bob

I love that announcement!
So, are the colorful embossed albums the type that go in the 8-35, etc.? If so I didn't have great luck with using that style in the space given, they were hard to retrieve.

I can only guess that these were the same as what were offered with the early Orthophonic Electrolas. Maybe someone has more information!HisMastersVoice wrote:I love that announcement!

I have always loved this letter. I would love to find an original copy.
Especially since this machine catered to my grandparents and great grandparents, since
they were of foreign extraction. No surprise many of the major opera performers were too
but they were somehow different.

Wow. Yes. What a great letter. I have the original bill-of-sale with mine. As the letter suggests, it was $175.00. Paid for in installments as noted on the sale receipt.
