For Sale: Needle Cut "Kansas City Kitty" Reproduction - $20

Post by donniej »

Edison DD # 52559. Needle cut, sindle sided, the song you want, Kansas City Kitty.
The quality is good and it plays surprisingly loud and clear.
This was a seriously intense and expensive creation, so it will take at least 15 sales to get the next title produced.
The video below is a copy being played on my (upgraded) Standard Talking Machine.
$20 each + $5 shipping in the USA.

Here's another video of playing a short section on both a modern turntable and a Victrola VIII.

Is this from the original Needle Cut, or dubbed from an electric DD? The description (and the label in the video) confused me a bit.

If the former, I'm definitely in for a copy.

After looking at it a bit, it's obvious that this is a needle-cut 78, from N823, not a DD despite the DD label. The label even says Needle-Cut. Great work! Kansas City Kitty is a very popular Edison record with Billy Murray according to collector friends of mine. If you don't get 15 sales here, are you going to put it on Ebay also?

Thank you everyone!
This was remastered from a clean DD and (laterally) cut to a new master, then molded. That's why this was such a large undertaking.
Playing it on the "Standard" doesn't do it justice. I'll try to upload a clip of it on an electric turntable later today.

Would you happen to own lathe equipment? Just wondering.
