I found a Sheraton Inlaid machine this weekend. Couldn't find a production date list on this model. I know it shows up in the 1919 Edison Catalog, but other than that I know nothing about when it was made. It's got a low serial number so I suspect not as many of this model were made.
Thanks in advance if anyone has any information.

Unfortunately, production date lists for Disc Phonographs are not available. Frow does mention that there were 300 SI-19 cabinets in stock as of Aug. 1922, but that the model was not profitable, and therefore not promoted. It was discontinued in Aug. 1927, with 238 cabinets in stock.

This image of the data plate is such a tease. Why not some photos of the rest of the machine?

Someone started to strip it, but I'm inclined to leave it alone at this point, it doesn't look too bad. It's noticeably larger than my S-19, by the way, and heavier.Garret wrote:This image of the data plate is such a tease. Why not some photos of the rest of the machine?

That is a nice design: gives a little more class to the cabinet.

I wonder if we can assume these were the same cabinets from an original batch that remained in stock all those years?Lucius1958 wrote:Unfortunately, production date lists for Disc Phonographs are not available. Re: Edison Sheraton Inlaid
About 2 years ago I went to look at a B-275, which has a very similar appearance to the SI-19. That B-275 was a large machine, similar in size to a Chippendale. The OP's comment that his SI-19 was significantly lager than his S-19 tells me that the SI-19 was really a descendant of the the B-275, not a "sibling" of the S-19.Columbia78 wrote:I wonder if we can assume these were the same cabinets from an original batch that remained in stock all those years?Lucius1958 wrote:Unfortunately, production date lists for Disc Phonographs are not available. Interestingly, Frow used identical pictures in his book for the A/B-275 (p.120) and the SI-19 (p. 156). Based on the OP's pictures, Frow seems to have used pictures of the A/B-275 in both instances, as the inlay on the SI-19 appears to be a bit simpler than the inlay on the A/B-275.

Re: Edison Sheraton Inlaid
The cabinet of this SI-19 looks identical to the A-275 except that the record storage compartment is a door not a drawer. My A-275 is dated October, 1913. This model may not have sold in great numbers but it was one of the longest running models available.
