My post-Wayne show story

Post by 52089 »

I came back from Wayne on Sunday and unpacked, but didn't have time to really sort things out. This time I mostly bought records, including a large "mystery" lot.

Today I had some time to play test at least a few of the things I bought. I had purchased various quantities of the following:

Blue Amberol cylinders
Lateral discs (acoustic and electric)
Pathé vertical discs
Diamond Discs
one 2M language cylinder (bought more for the box than the record)
an early vertical needle cut Aeolian Vocalion (found in the "mystery" lot)

By the time I was done, I had played six different formats on five different machines! That included a Victor VV-XI, Victor VV 1-90, Pathé III, Edison C-150, and an Edison Standard D. I don't ever recall coming home with such a diverse group before! It was definitely fun playing all of these on the same day!
