Brunswick Automatic Panatrope

Post by msarnold1990 »

I picked up a Brunswick 48 Panatrope for a steal ($50) but it desperately needs some TLC. Ive always done my own work on my windup machines, but never on any electrical ones. Are there any good beginner books, tutorials, etc. To rebuilding and repairing the radio and Phonograph? I don't know much about wiring or electronics, but I have done some electrical work on a coke machine I have. Always was fascinated by radios and electrolas, but never had any idea where to start with repairs. Any advice is appreciated!!

You could find some books about repairing antique radios and you can find a schematic for the amplifier.
Remember, a Coke machine is not an audio amplifier
Just be careful there are some high voltages involved.

This is a good forum, antiqueradios.com/
Schematic should be here, http://www.nostalgiaair.org/Resources/067/T0000067.htm
Some good reading to get started, https://antiqueradio.org/begin.htm
Take lots of pics, read what other have done right and wrong. It's not rocket science but you need to be safe.
