That was my understanding too, until Wyatt Marcus found a nickel plated Class M whose castings were brass! :)

I appreciate all the posts. Shawn, your machine is incredible and I'm jealous of your signature tag. :mrgreen: I suspect my machine was nickeled shortly after it left the factory. It is what it is and I like it. Here are the photos after a cleaning. I'm not quite finished but here are a couple of photos. Thanks again for the postings.
