vintage phonograph tone arm
I have a Path'e model x and I was curious about the tone arm base where the tone arm pivots. Will that wear out? and should it be lubricated?

Re: vintage phonograph tone arm
This series of Pathé machines is known for having tonearms that separate from their base. Part of the pivot support is pot metal which degrades over the years and eventually breaks.
If your tonearm is still properly attached to its base, my advice would be to leave well enough alone. If your tonearm and base have separated, then yes, I would recommend some light lubrication on the pivot point and perhaps even around the collar area to allow the arm to move more freely.
