Humanizer ??

Hi , saw this on Ebay. Have never heard of a soundbox called a "Humanizer" - presumably as it reproduces the human voice ? Anyone heard this word before ?

I've seen the Pelham soundbox a few times over the years it isn't really rare , never seen the box though ,

This looks like a Victor/HMV knock-off.

I'm not sure if I'd want an anthropomorphized gramophone wandering around the place... :lol:
