I spotted this today -- https://www.ebay.com/itm/Antique-Victor ... SwLlpZsbn1
For an empty cabinet, I'd say the asking price is way out of line, but then, considering it's rarity...
I guess it might be worth restoring with parts from a VV-8-9 (the home version) with a damaged cabinet that cannot be restored.
I'd hate to see it turned into a bar -- -- as the seller suggests.

Looks like a great project machine. How difficult would it be to find suitable wheels? Jerry

At one time the guy had 2 of those, both gutted. It makes you wonder what happened to them....

Re: VV-8-8 Schoolhouse Orthophonic (Cabinet Only) on Ebay
I restored an 8-8 starting with a cabinet like one of those... the cabinet only cost about 60 bucks (on eBay), transport was another couple hundred bucks... then finding the rest cost another five or six years looking and more than a thousand for the remaining components (including a trashed 8-9 that I sacrificed for a number of pieces).
The ones on eBay now definitely seem priced high... one at least has a motor board, but no wheels, the other has wheels but a totally trashed interior. Both for that price would seem more reasonable, but that seller does tend to be somewhat high.
