Just wondering if this is a rare record

Post by poodling around »

I have spent some time on the internet and can only find different record labels and slightly different title spellings for this track.

The record seems to have Billy Williams name etched into the label area as well.

The reverse side is 'I wish I were a ladies man'.

Could this be a rare record I wonder ?

Thank you for any information /advice you can give.

The Jumbo record label is not rare... I have a few of them, but they are somewhat uncommon. If you are wondering if this record is valuable, not particularly, but it is desirable to anyone who doesn't happen to have this label...

A nice label but probably more interesting because of the performer. Billy Williams was an English Music Hall performer who made many disc and cylinder records. One of his most popular songs was “When Father Papered the Parlor”.

Yes, that is what I was wondering really.

I have seen other record labels with Billy Williams with slightly different spelling / wording of what I assume is the same song. I cannot find reference to the version I have. So I thought it might be rare maybe.

Oh, the song being 'My girl from Glasgie toon'.

Other labels for example use the word 'lass' and 'fae' etc in the title
