Someone unable to get it may have told him it was Circassian to sabotage the sale for anyone else, or maybe he did five minutes of web searching and wrongly concluded that he had Circassian rather than standard walnut because, why not, it’s worth five to 10 times as much.

Hopefully he'll come through and someone will be able to buy and enjoy this machine!

I am curious, does anyone know what ever became of this. Strange to go from $500.00 to $3500.00 and then disappear.

I was able to buy the albums from the seller. They arrived yesterday and they are the nicest that I have seen, (nearly like new). He agreed to sell them through ebay for $250.00 plus $75.00 for shipping. The set is one short from complete, (13 albums), but very nice and I think that I got a good deal.

Just a quick update in case anyone is keeping score. He sold the machine for $1000.00 locally. That was the complete machine, minus the albums which I have. I would pay that locally for a figured American Walnut early XVI. It's not Circassian Walnut, but it's not $5000.00 either.
