Featured Phonograph № 55

Post by gramophoneshane »

Make: Regal (Australia)
Model: ?
Serial #: N/A
Year(s) Made: 1927/28?
Original Cost: ?
Case/Cabinet Size: 14"W x 11½"D x 7¼"H
Turntable/Mandrel: 10"
Reproducer/Sound-Box: Argentin by Thorens
Motor: single spring Thorens
Horn Dimensions: 13¼"W x 2¾"H
Reproduction Parts: record storage stick
Current Value: $150-$200
Interesting Facts: I quite like the front flap that opens the horn. The spring needs replacing as it slows down a bit towards the end of a record.

I like it. All closed up it resembles a Victrola 50 to some extent.

It must be hard to find one with a good decal when the crank lays right on top of it like that when closed or being transported. I guess you are lucky there too.

It's actually a lot like the early "Outing" portable from Mt Kisco NY. I'll have to post some comparison photos.
