SOLD: HMV 202 $3750

Post by jamesweekes »

I am selling my HMV 202 which is in outstanding original condition. Included is a spare 5A soundbox, instantaneous speed tester and fibre needle cutter, all in their boxes that were bought with the machine when new. The sound of this machine is spectacular. The downside (perhaps) is that it is in Toronto, Canada. If you've always wanted a 202, this one is virtually pristine. Price is negotiable. James

Very nice.

Out of curiosity, will it be staying in the area, Canada or US? Or heading overseas or to Asia?

The machine was sold to a collector in the USA.

Nice. Thanks. I can’t imagine that more than a few even made it over here.

Yes, it has a substantial mass to it, that's for sure, but the sound is the best I've heard...a very efficient system.

A stunning original machine and the new owner got an absolute bargain. I can't for the life of me understand why it was sold quite so cheaply. Recent examples in this condition have easily fetched the equivalent of $8000.

Console yourself with the thought that for that money it was probably missing its original horn! It's not unknown. Or maybe it'll re-appear shortly for sale at fair market price?
