Daddy- Daughter Dance- Victor Humpback II

Post by outune »

Hi All-- A few months ago I asked for ideas for songs for the Daddy-Daughter Dance at my daughter's wedding.. We (actually she) finally settled on 1938- Bing Crosby "You Must Have Been a Beautiful Baby." Jen remembers the evenings with she was little, spent gathered around the Credenza in our parlor---dancing, while standing on my feet. She asked that I bring a phonograph to the wedding.

Here is a pic of yesterday's event--With my Humpback II-- Half the crowd was on one side of the dance floor-- the other half is behind and to the left-- Those in front of the horn could hear it loud and clear. I used a Victrola 2 reproducer for a little extra volume..

It was wonderful-- lots of oohs and aahs when I cranked it up and we started our dance.. A fun time was had by all.

That's wonderful, Brad. Congratulations to your daughter and newly minted son in law.

Cool. Very cool. I hope their married life is long, happy, and fruitful and that everyone continue to enjoy themselves!

Nice to see a human side of phonograph collecting--we're not just about model, finish, and serial number here!

That's not just a beautiful story. It's a great idea for weddings! So much better than any of the other Daddy Daughter dances I have witnessed. If it had been posted on You Tube, I'm sure it would have garnered a lot of views. Congratulations! :D

Congratulations to your daughter and her husband - and of course to the proud Daddy! We played the Wedding March at my daughter's outdoor wedding on my VV-50 and also got a lot of positive comments. It is great to add something special and personal to such an occasion. I'm sure she will never forget this dance.

Thanks for sharing this beautiful picture.
