Larry, Martin, Thanks for this information. I didn't know there were different diameters of the flat bar crank. The S shaped crank came with my machine. I don't know if it was swapped, or original to this machine. I'll keep it as-is until I get more information. What is the general S/N for the last of the 1901 4 clip Standards?

I've only ever seen the early crank with the smaller diameter hole. That doesn't mean there weren't any with the larger hole - just I haven't seen it. There's a machine I've seen in the 23000s with a primitive-looking s-curve crank which I think is original to the machine. The last 4 Clip Standard I've seen is 43074. (There is some mixing of New Style and 4 Clip before that.) It's something that isn't easily documented because ebay sellers usually don't usually post measurements of the crank shafts.

Re: Edison Suitcase Crank?
I have no information on what serial numbers may use what size crank.
Just from my personal experience over the years dealing with different suitcase Standards running into different size straight flat cranks.
At this time I have 3 suitcase Standards that I checked the winding shafts.
S11156 2 clip ¼ " winding shaft
S14578 2 clip ¼" winding shaft
S25799 4 clip 5/16 winding shaft
Maybe there's a change over number, maybe just some sprinkled in during the later numbers of the suitcase Standard.
It would be interesting to hear from others that have suitcase Standards on their winding shafts and crank.
