First official electric was 19626.

If this is your record, you can easily tell by looking at the run-off area near the label. Electrically recorded Victor records were marked with a V.E. in an oval --

The V.E. does indicate electric, but not all early Victor electrics have a V.E.

All the histories I've ever seen, for instance --

http://www.capsnews.org/barrvic.htm
etc...

-- stated that the records recorded by the electrical process were stamped with a VE, so this is the first time I've heard about this.

Can you post a source, because this kind of changes history for me.

No source, except my examining own records. Some of the earliest Victor electrics bear no V.E. :)

That's very interesting! When you have a chance, could you post a few label numbers--perhaps in a new post string, "Victor Electric Records without the VE," or whatever. It could be that the VE wasn't stamped properly or was simply omitted for some reason, but might show up on other copies.

I'll see if I can dig one out of a box somewhere, an early batwing electric without a V.E.

Maybe someone else here has noticed the same ? :)

I have been collecting victor electrics since 1970 and EVERY ONE I have ever seen has the VE in the oval or the diamond.

But remember, not every Victor record with catalog number 19626 or above is an electric recording. For example, neither side of Victor 19700 is recorded electrically. My copy of 19700 has the batwing-style label, and "VE " in an oval is not present on either side.
