Some time back there was a discussion about Melba style III at an auction.
Tough question as there are not many of these around: Does anyone know the difference in the decoration, as the model exists in both the wood style decoration and gilded bronze. I think that the wood style was the UK type and the bronze continental?

Yes, as far as I know, the gilded bronze decoration was used by the German branche (Deutsche Grammophon)

The carving on mine is the same as the gilded one pictured above but it is not and never has been gilded.

Hi Stephen,
the top decoration is metal not carved. You can see the nails that hold it in place. A pic of yours would be very helpful.
