It is indeed a genuine cylinder player, one of the pioneering devices made in the turn of the 20th century. The Lioret cylinders are not rare, but players in good condition, as this one seems to be, are rare, mainly due to its cardboard box construction that was NOT built to last. This particular one has been for sale for quite some time. Most collectors only care about Columbias and Edisons and overlook a lot of interesting stuff.
