So I'm working my way through a big batch of records I purchased today (photos of the haul here:
http://forum.talkingmachine.info/viewto ... =3&t=36837 )
and it turns out I have a really clean, good-looking version (VG/VG+ range) of the Electrola disc discussed here:
http://www.45worlds.com/78rpm/record/eg1770
That 45world page notes: "this copy is EXTREMELY RARE. A hard to find and very wanted collectors item." .. now, I know of Marlene, of course, and I assumed that a German label release is of *some* above-average interest, and while the 45world note obviously intrigues me, popsike suggests it's about a $50 disc:

Can anyone elaborate on this disc? Is 45world notorious for drama in their listings?
Danke!

No drama at all. Just a report of the result of an ebay auction. Depending upon the condition of your MD record, you might be able to get quite a bit more for it on ebay. Here is something you can read about rating records. https://thevinylfactory.com/features/a- ... l-records/
"You can't take the phonographs nor the money with you, but the contentment the phonographs bring may well make your life better, and happier lives make the world a better place."

typo (corrected) in my original post -- I meant is 45world (not popsike) notorious for dramaaudiophile102 wrote:No drama at all. Just a report of the result of an ebay auction.
thanks for the grading link; I'd say mine is in the VG/VG+ range

Re: A question for Marlene Dietrich collectors
This song is very popular in Germany, therefore a $50 price does not seem outrageous. I would question the “extremely rare” claim though. Marlene was a very popular artist in Germany in the 30s and she sold many copies of this hit record. It may be somewhat rare outside of Germany, but not over all I think. I would love to have one nevertheless. Congratulations to a great find.
