FOR SALE: Victor TM Co. Nipper Radiator Ornament-$600

Post by Phono-Phan »

I have for sale a mint Victor TM Co. Nipper Radiator Ornament. These rarely show up and when they do they usually have issues like severe cracks and/or the ear broken off. I am asking $600. The underside shows what look like cracks but they are just from the casting and not cracks. Please contact me with any questions. I have a re-plated one of these on my Model A Ford.
Thanks, Ken Brekke

That looks like a very small thread to be a radiator cap.

It’s not a cap. The mascot gets attached to a cap (not included from the looks of it) with a screw or bolt.

I never knew about these--it's elegant, beautifully crafted, and very cute as well!

Wasn't that ornament also used on the large metal Victor Needle display? Maybe that one is a smaller version of the same casting though. They sure offered a lot of crazy radiator ornaments in the 20's. Used to be a guy near me that had a huge display cabinet full of really expensive one's from those years.

Those were indeed used on a round metal Victor Talking Machine Co. needle store display.

There are differences between the needle tin version and the radiator ornament. Here is a link to one that sold a while back.

Here is a link to my other posting on them.

Wow! I am definitely behind the times with my Nipper education. I used to be an active Nipper collector. Well I have been out of the hobby for the last 15 years. But back into it again now. I just ordered both of the Joan Rolfs Nipper books. Have know them since 1993 and just had breakfast with them last Saturday in Hastings, MI. Great people!
