Hi folks,
This is a Kijiji listing [Canada's answer to craigslist]. Its in Clark's Harbour Nova Scotia.
It is a nice looking machine and a search here only revealed one post for Sherlock Manning. Looks like they did a very nice restoration and its a handsome looking machine [BTW - I'm not interested - too big for my life/home].
I am curious about the little drawer beneath the grill ... any thoughts?

That's a thing of beauty!
Just a stab at this, but my money's on it not being a drawer, but rather a pull-out shelf.
Best regards,
Fran

I saw that ad on our local sales site too. It must have been an expensive machine when new. The cabinet looks to be very well built and still in nice shape. Many of us are in the same situation, we just don't have the room for any more large cabinet machines! It would be interesting to know if the records are the same era as the machine. Could be a few treasures in there.

Another fine example of a machine built by a piano company.

Spindle design seems unusual too- for stacking records while playing?

I know of a few others from the CAPS member list. I'm near Tatamagouche BTW.
It is lovely and he must know a bit about the hobby [especially if he did the work himself]. As you know most of the ads up here generally consist of descriptions like "works!" followed by an outrageous amount of money being asked for
Besides the size, the other thing that put me off a bit was when I searched the brand and a post it turned in was titled: Off-brand phonographs hard on 78s?
Still very pretty

Good find OrthoFan!
I should have remembered to check the CAPP site myself.

I saw something like that on a hot-air Palliard: it disengaged the turntable & left the motor runniing
