FOUND: Edison Shaver

Post by dennislpr »

Hello everyone, I’m looking for an Edison Shaver. If anyone here has one for sale, let me know. I will be attending the Orlando Phonograph Show. I’m located in Miami, FL. Thanks.

What kind of shaver? Is it for a Standard, Home, Triumph, Spring Motor, Etc.? Is it a large one with a crank? There are so many kinds of shavers.

I'm looking for an standalone shaving machine for my cylinders, I don't have anything specific in mind, I think one of those Ediphone shavers will do fine. Thanks for asking.

There's one advertised in yankee trader
by studebakerphonos.

I'd suggest searching ebay and craigslist.

If you start seriously looking, a dictaphone
electric motor powered shaving machine will turn up.

They are quite common.

Thank you Chuck for the info, but studebakerphonos is actually selling an Edison Ediphone recording machine not an Ediphone shaver. I haven't been able to find anything yet. I'm waiting for a response from one of the member of the forum, but nothing concrete so far.

Yep. It dawned on me after I posted, that
the one offered by Studebakerphono is not a shaver.

But seriously though, keep checking ebay and craigslist.
They DO turn up.

I've purchased several over the years. Enough that
I now have multiple shavers at 2 locations.
This is needed because there must always be
a shaver in working order available at a moment's notice.
Also it' good to have plenty of spare parts.

Keep looking. One will turn up. Good luck!
