Featured Phonograph № 147 - Puritan "Vanity Fair

Make: Puritan
Model: Vanity Fair
Serial #: 5519
Year(s) Made: 1917-1919
Original Cost: $300
Case/Cabinet Size: 48 ½" Tall 24" Wide 24" deep
Turntable/Mandrel: 12"
Reproducer/Sound-Box: Puritan
Motor: 3 spring
Current Value: One of a kind
Interesting Facts: I picked this up from a picker in Effington, Illinois who found it at a local estate sale. I was lucky as the seller told me he thought he had it sold but the buyer never showed up.
I have seen these fancy cased Puritans before but none with the ornate carving and clawed feet.
After replacing a broken spring and a good cleaning the motor runs smoothly and the sound is amazing.

One of the finest examples from the Puritan company that I have seen. Thanks for adding it to the featured phonograph section of the forum.

Ha ha never thought 'feet' would turn me on but this is wonderful looking. Lucky you. I saw one once but don't remember it looking so 'fancy' and had all wrong parts on it too so I passed it by. Funny though I still think about it. ha ha
