My Columbia AG Arrived Yesterday

Post by rgordon939 »

The Columbia AG I bought on the Yankee Trader arrived yesterday. So I thought I’d give it a spin.

Congratulations, Rich. Is that the one Joe had listed? If so, imo you got it for a killer price!

I must say thanks to Raphael for transporting the machine from Florida to me in New Jersey. Of all the collectors I’ve met over the years Raphael is at the top of the list. Truly one of the best people to deal with. So thanks again Raphael, I hope I can repay the favor somehow.

I'm sure glad this worked out. I really would hate to ship an AG unless I tore it down into several pieces. It is indeed a great machine. Raphael, you are a true gentleman. Thanks for offering to deliver this to Rich. And better news is that there may be another AG ready for the Union show which I will be attending this year. Raphael, if you need anything transported just let me know. Right now there is a lot of room left.
Rich, enjoy it!

A very nice concert cylinder machine!

It sounds like the Mainspring was struggling a bit at the end of the Video and end of the cylinder..

Otherwise fine...

"Concert" was Edison's trade name for 5" cylinders and the machines to play them. Columbia 5" cylinders and machines were called "Grand."

You wouldn't want to call a "Mustang" a "Camero," would you? ;)
