“Candy Coated Popcorn, Peanuts And A Surprise. That’s What You Get In A Record Box!”
I just picked up this nice 7” Record Box, and low and behold, this is what was behind the slots:
Some record labels.
A purchase receipt dated December 22nd 1905 ???
A shoe store receipt dated January 9th 1906.
A PAID Gas Bill dated December 9th 1905.
Some torn up Newspaper from around the early teens, (I couldn’t find the date).
“Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your gunna’ get!”
Cheers, Bob S.

That’s really cool! I love the “shoes and rubbers” receipt. A piece of paper lost in the wrong century…

Very cool! You need to locate some of those records and fix those original labels to them!

The receipts are priceless especially the one which appears to say ‘oak cabinet’. Do you think it refers to the record box in question? Actually rarer than the box itself. I wonder if the box was new or nearly new? By 1905 7 inch records would be fairly dated.
