Hello,
Does anyone know how many Edison Model B Standards were produced? Next to the Amberola 30 they seem to be the most commonly found machine.

Re: Production number for the Edison Model B Standard
Judging by sales records up to May 1908, and knowing that the B was manufactured through 1908, I'd estimate about 350,000.

Re: Production number for the Edison Model B Standard
Hi!
George's estimate looks pretty close to what I have. To me, it looks like there were at least 382000 model B Standards. (This assumes that there weren't huge blocks of numbers not used along the way.) The earliest Model B number I've seen is 245495. The last number before the first Model C I've seen is 620567. The next block of production (to use up castings, I'm guessing) starts around 626769 and goes to 633255. After that the B seems to appear in much smaller blocks until they disappeared altogether. All in all, a pretty impressive run.
