Re: Does anyone sell a rubber flange for this columbia reproducer?

It's a bit more complicated than that. There's a perimeter flange as well as a raised center hub to account for.

Re: Harry Sooy Memoirs of VTMCo

Check out the address given by Sooy for his first house, at 429 Chambers Ave. in Camden. It's a nice row home on a very well-preserved block: https://www.google.com/maps/place/429+Chambers+Ave,+Camden,+NJ+08103/@39.9396275,-75.1191092,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x89c6c8e5b4008965:0xf8a5ee9c85b5a180...

Re: Vera Lynn: We'll meet again...

It's not exactly a disc recording, but another "obsolete" technology, DVD: the closing credits of "Dr. Strangelove," where Vera Lynn sings "We'll Meet Again." The context makes this one bitterly ironic.

It's actually called the Johnson Victrola Museum in Dover, DE. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Re: How do you prefer to store your records? Albums or Sleeves? Combo?

That particular model of IKEA bookshelf (Expedit) has vertical dividers every linear 12" (+/-), so the weight is well supported. I have my 78 albums on IKEA's "Billy" bookshelves, which come in two widths (23" and 31"). The 10" albums do nicely on the 31" upper she...

Re: FOR SALE: Walnut Victrola XVI - $700

Beautiful machine, Jerry. Does the price include the 35mm film canister? :) Yes, I does include that very rare needle container. When you take delivery it will even have Caruso's autograph done with a sharpie on the tin! What a bonus. Jerry B. :) Aw, shucks! I thought maybe it had a roll of film in...

Re: Franklin Phonograph on Facebook; West Chester PA

I can't figure out what seller is trying to say in this sentence: "This is an antique Victoria by the Franklin Phonograph company. When they were made Victoria sold the “guys” to cabinet makers." Aside from the obvious typo for "Victrola," what or who are the "guys"? An...
