Yep: with the bullet brake, gold plating would wear off; so Victor used nickel on the turntable.

Judging by the small screw holes on the back of my Triumph A, this was probably the crane with which it was originally fitted. When I got it, it had a later, front mounted H&S crane. The change may or may not have happened when it was upgraded to 2/4 minute gearing, and the horizontal carriage.....

Eric Reiss, in The Compleat Talking Machine, has a section on the BC, offering a few tips.

One critical factor is the rubber shoe: after more than a century, the rubber has probably suffered some chemical changes, and ought to be replaced for best performance.

No locking pin, and no lateral movement either. Definitely not a DD adapter.

Part of a Heinemann or Meisselbach arm, maybe?
