Re: Victor "scissor" brake

Interesting! My L-doors all have that brake. One is pictured here, and it is the only one that has an additional spring on it which appears to be an aid to the stop position. Ah-ha! Thanks for posting your pic, as I do have a second one of these (unusable at the moment and needing repairs) that has...

Victor "scissor" brake

I don't know if "scissor" is the right word, but that is what the action of this brake reminds me of. This is being readied to reattach to the VV-X I'm currently working on. What strikes me as odd is that I have literally scoured the web (and, to the best of my ability, this forum) and can...

Re: Help with Sealing Credenza

Charlie, Wow, a lot has changed in Look For The Dog. The first (green) edition has early monochrome catalog cuts from the Victor catalog. The latest edition has actual color photos of every machine through 1929 except some special non catalog models. It look Bob many years to find and photograph so...

Good luck

Re: Help with Sealing Credenza

Also, every collector should own a copy of Robert Baumbach’s book “Look for the Dog”, it contains several Victor service bulletins and has supplemental instructions for sealing the Orthophonic Tone Chamber. Mark Mark, do you know the latest edition of the book, i.e., the latest printing? I haven't ...

WANTED: Four motor board screws for VV-X table model

Out of three cabinets to make up one good machine, I got not one single motor board screw. For this model, I do not know if these screws were nickel plated or the more common black ones I'm familiar with. If someone knows and has a set of four, please let me know. As always, thanks for the help. P.S...

WANTED: Carryola Lassie reproducer

I'm posting for a neighbor of mine, a young lady who is thrilled to have found her first little phono. It is in nice shape, but is missing the reproducer. Anyone have one? She would be beyond excited if so. Thanks much!

Re: WANTED: Spring barrel shaft or pin/Victor X

After finally getting into the motor of the Victor X table model, I sadly saw where the encircled pin was sheared off at some point. Would anyone have said pin or even an entire shaft for sale? Please & thank you! Charlie- BTDT- tap it out with a hammer and small punch and use an appropriate di...
