Re: Was told that my Victrola was running slow

Sounds fine. I've heard it a click faster or slower or that same speed--it's still a great record.

Re: Searchlight horn find

Those are some very nice horns--as usual. Which ones are going to be getting the royal treatment, and are you going to make another white one or try to go back with original Searchlight horn colors? They do look sharp, just the lines of them alone.

Re: Panatrope 15-8 find

About the reproducer. So anyway JerryVan had a brass reproducer for a Panatrope. Many thanks to JerryVan for basically saving the project. It arrived recently & I decided to figure out how to incorporate it into the project. Unfortunately it had no thumbscrew. A thumbscrew swap didn't work--the ...

It appears even the regular VV-370 is very rare. So this one is fascinating.

Re: Victor VI crank

Hello, I have a Victor III crank like that and replaced with a new one from JAS Antiques on eBay. I suggest you do the same & have a plater do it in gold to match your machine. It is better to change out parts when they break than to risk damage--on mine it slipped off when my back was turned, u...

Please do that if it remain there; it will be nice to see it salvaged. Surely someone can make a lid, or perhaps one from a lowboy humpback cabinet will fit.

Re: Victrola weak governor springs causing slow motor

What's the serial number on this Victrola? I have an XIV dated to about November-December 1914 pretty conclusively by serial, paper license label, and series, and it has a large crescent speed indicator with "isinglass" window. The open indicator looks more 1913-ish. Anyway I would want to...

Re: Home Model B follow-the-restoration.

A set of Gregg Cline decals arrived and I put one on the case. Looks sharp, as usual--Gregg Cline's phonodecal.com is a real asset to the hobby & Mr. Cline himself is a square dealer. DSC01248.JPG The bedplate is still wearing about 94% original japanning but I've touched it up with some black m...

Re: Panatrope 15-8 find

I've been following your progress since you first picked it up. Its coming along nicely! Thanks Travis--I'm absolutely tickled pink to finally have a floor model Panatrope. The last one I had was a portable P-109 that I got for five bucks at an antiques shop but I sold it a couple years ago. This o...
