Re: Hmv exhibition soundbox black rubber flange. Wanted

Just a question... I bought some from I don't remember who... They were hard rubber, like neoprene.
Among the several sources available, it's there any made of natural soft rubber?

Re: How many records have you broken in your lifetime?

I've broken several, mostly in my early years... One I specially remember was a Spanish pressing of a12" record of Andre Kostelanetz Orch playing Tea for Two and so, one of the later US Columbia recordings. Was the only record I bought that morning for a mere 75c back then. It was NOS. They put...

Re: Project: Molded rubber Columbia flanges

Me too, I need two of them, one for immediate replacing and another one for spare... Thanks! Still I owe you the dimensions taken from mine for comparison... Mine is 1.5" outer diameter, 0.5" inner. Total thickness seems 0.25" at the outer ridge. The resulting distance between center ...

A beautiful advert, thanks! The model in the advertising has the old style automatic brake, whose knee can be seen near the tonearm base ;)

Re: Cole Porter's "You're the Top" Lyrics

It's one of my favorite songs. A colleague at work and I were very fond of this song, and used to sing it... I believe this porter song was written allowing anyone to add the lyrics as the moment dictated... It is a song that could be exported to anything the fashion of the moment will dictate..

Re: Does anyone sell a rubber flange for this columbia reproducer?

It's likely the same rubber as for later no15 soundbox. If it is, measures have to be checked, I'm sure there's a market for those difficult to get rubber joints. Mine are substituted by two plain rubber joints glued together and to the soundbox parts, the screws being safely stored away. I still ke...

Re: The mystery machine

What is very importan is to balance the governor, so you don't feel any vibration while it's running at full speed. Vibrations loose energy, and kill the bearings if sustained for time enough. Much like the wheels of a car need to be balanced.
