Re: I have sinned...

Such record auction sites as Recordfinders, etc. used to have Califones for sale. Yeah, it was 20 years ago, but maybe they still carry this line of products...

Re: Inspiring Restoration Video

Yeah! Suspicious! We see herein everyday the enormous trouble and fight it is to restore an old phonograph, and step by step follow the struggle of our colleagues restoring items that from scratch, they look much better than those tin toys. Yet in the videos of that guy, there is no trouble, everyth...

Re: Duruflé organ music

Trig! :D I also love Germani. His was my first classical organ 78 (1979), a French recording of Bach Sonata in E flat major BWV525, on one of those rare 78s with the Vatican label SEMS. I love that recording. Also Dupre, of whom I only have one recording, a British one with franck prelude choral &am...

Re: PAPER HORN "BALMAIN"

Impressive! Amazing! ITOH, I want to remark, for your comfort in next trial, that the Meltrope iii rubber collar fits snugly and perfectly on the backplate collar of the hmv no4 and 5a soundboxes. You only have to remove the two screws, extract the original rubber collar (with the brass insert) and ...

Re: Inspiring Restoration Video

It's amazing, but he only shows his successes. The bending of old rusted thin tin tabs cannot be so successful! And in some videos, the way he throws those delicate parts into the bins is at least frightening... I've picked some other odd things when watching some of the videos... Mmmmm....! ...

Re: The brief appearance of an HMV 31

I didn't know the markings on the spring barrels of hmv and Victor motors no32 and 34 were the length of springs. I've seen 12, and X. Does this mean 12 and 10 feet springs? I never suspected that springs for these motors were made in different lengths... I thought it was a standard length. .. In ot...

Re: Duruflé organ music

We're glad you joined! I'm also a comete fan, although I only have one record by him, the pastorale of franck, another French Columbia recording, and it sounds beautiful! Some of those were also issued in Spain, and they are very good pressings. Although I also have to say that my only record by Sit...
