Acetates(lacquer-costed aluminum or other metal-based) in 1927-no, no and no. Softish wax masters.

Weight - driven turntables definately. Used in smaller studios and for territory, field-regional recording sessions.

Would be interesting to see the uncited source of the Discogs-given sales figure of 170,000.

Unfortunately Discogs, Wikipedia and other sites are loaded with unproven and excessive sales figures to I guess amaze the masses.

Paul Whiteman and Enrico Caruso seem to be the most misquoted sales figures

Also was issued as GAY ELLIS on SUPERTONE 1021. This was a red labelled Columbia subsidiary similar looking to Harmony but issued for the Chicago Dept store STRAUSS & SCHRAM. Many of her records were issued on this custom/private label.

Jazz Oracle reissue CD label has many of the Edison Jazz sides well-processed. There are other not-so-well restored CD's Of Edison DD's out there so beware...
