Re: Project: Molded rubber Columbia flanges

I assume it is the US version. The flange I am modeling it after does have a seam around the perimeter from when it was originally molded.

The final product should be pretty much identical.

Project: Molded rubber Columbia flanges

I am considering having a short run of Columbia rubber tonearm flanges molded. See image of an original part. Cost would be approximately $20 each. I am curious how much interest there is before I go ahead and commit to this. The part has been drawn out in autocad, and I have some quotes on molds, b...

Re: Does anyone sell a rubber flange for this columbia reproducer?

Here is an image of a mostly intact flange. I am currently working on a CAD file for the part. If I can assure myself I can sell at least 50 of them for around $20 a pop I will go ahead and get a run made. It is approximately 1.5 inches in diameter and ¼ thick. It has countersinks for 6 screws, 3 go...

Re: Does anyone sell a rubber flange for this columbia reproducer?

I am pretty sure it is authentic. I have worked on 4 of these United "Symphony" machines now. All of them had the same tonearm, reproducer and gasket. I am investigating making a short run of these rubber Columbia flanges. Does anyone think there would be enough interest in them to make th...

Re: Columbia turntable cast iron or steel?

I ended up with 4 highly busted up symphony talking machines with the large spindle. Long story... Probably all of them should have been considered parts machines... However I have been fixing them up. I am now on number 3. This one was missing it's original turntable with the 1" spindle. I man...

Re: Columbia turntable cast iron or steel?

I just wish to remove the hole that was drilled into it. I would guess somebody tried to install a regular ¼ spindle on it years ago to play normal records.

Columbia turntable cast iron or steel?

Does anyone know if the metal turntable platter on old Columbia client machines is cast steel or cast iron? I have one with a hole drilled into the center of it and I am curious if it can be welded.

Does anyone sell a rubber flange for this columbia reproducer?

I am trying to rebuild a reproducer from a Columbia client machine. There is a rubber flange with 6 screw mounting holes that attaches it to the tonearm. Are reproductions of this part available? Anyone out there ever worked on one of these?
