Re: Edison Fireside Model B (Maybe??)

Thank you Gramophoneshane for the picture of a III. Obviously mine looks nothing like that. But-it does have two screw holes in the front corners of the bedplate so if a VIII has those maybe mine is an altered machine with the wrong ID plate AND in the wrong bedplate. From what I've been told none o...

Re: Edison Fireside Model B (Maybe??)

No, there is no "V" on the nameplate. I looked closer this morning. I did leave out a question I had in my initial post though. I have never seen an Amberola III. Did it's bedplate hinge with the two screws on the back corners of the bedplate like a Fireside does?

Edison Fireside Model B (Maybe??)

Hello Fellow Collectors- I recently acquired what at first glance I felt to be an Edison Model B Fireside. Upon further inspection I am now not quite so sure. I felt this would be the perfect place to explain and get everyone's take on what I might have. The metal ID tag says "Amberola" in...

Re: Victor "Humpback" - is it an E, or a V 2, or a II?

Both are the humpback ...

Re: Modernola

Thanks so much for the idea Curt. With so many pieces of the lamp part missing a shade is down the road a bit but that gives me a viable option. I appreciate it!

Re: Modernola

As anticipated, this is just a wealth of information in just an hour or so. I appreciate it all, especially the visuals showing what I may be looking for if I go forward with the purchase. The cabinet is complete with no chips or cracks and the finish is original and quite worn and crazed. Should I ...

Modernola

Hello All- This is my first attempt at posting anything on this site. I hope my question shows up as intended and all of this makes sense to someone out there. I've been a collector since the early 70's but always just a hobby and never approaching anything super serious. Now that I'm retired I have...
