Re: FOR SALE: Stereoviews-New Price 50% off

I have a set of these when Curt first made them. They are of exceptional quality. This price is a bargain for all the hard work Curt puts into these and other printed items.

Re: Columbia premium machine?

I stand by my post. I am not judging, just stating my observations from experience. There are still unanswered questions. When you lift off the turntable, are there 4 holes where a dust ring would be? If not, then this machine does not have a dust ring. I think the turntable ring and block though we...

Re: Columbia premium machine?

There are some discrepancies that I noticed. The wooden turntable ring is not original. It is a piece of veneer stained and finished, glued around the turntable. Some of these machines had rings, and others did not. Remove the turntable and see if there are any screw holes in the motorboard. The blo...

Re: Cool "off brand" machine

One warning of Starr phonographs is to check the spring barrels. Sometimes they are made of pot metal. As we know, pot metal deteriorates. If there is a sign of bad pot metal, do not buy it. This will be like a bomb waiting to explode.

Re: Phono I.D.

This is a late model Zonophone. This was sold by Sears as tier top of the line Oxford machine. If the machine is near you, and affordable, go for it.

Veteran's Day

As we know 11 NOV 2019 is Veteran's Day. Yesterday, my VFW Post celebrated it's 100th adversary. It was founded on 08 NOV 1919. Remember to play your marches and patriotic records to commemorate this day. Also, thank the men and women who stood the watch and defended our freedoms that we enjoy today...

Re: Why do record collectors hate Big Band music?

I really enjoy Big Band Records. Years ago, my Father gave me his collection. I really enjoyed them. It gave me a slice of life of my Father's generation. Heck, I enjoy and collect Hawaiian records, but that another topic.

Re: Does an Edison Army-Navy machine exist in Navy gray?

I heard the same thing myself. Being a Navy man, myself, I have an interest in this. I believe the color was Battleship Gray with black stencils. It would be interesting if one shows up.

Re: Wanted : Original Paper 'Horn' for Polly Portable

If anyone needs a Polly Portable Horn, contact me and I will get the info to Curt. His horns are spot on. The price is reasonable for all the hard work he puts into these.
