Re: Speed problem on Triumph A

You've already been inundated with suggestions but just to add my two-penneth worth... When in the two-minute mode, the feed screw and the mandrel shaft both rotate at 160 rpm. In four minute mode, the feed screw rotates at 80 rpm and the mandrel shaft remains at 160 rpm. This can lead to friction a...

Re: Nipper figurine/statues, genuine or not...

I'll ask to get the wording changed on the CLPGS web site to make it explicit that Paypal is welcomed for all sales. When one clicks on the "Add to Cart" button next to the item, it automatically takes you to an option to pay by Paypal.
However, thanks for pointing this out.

Re: Wagner Bayreuth Festival Tristan and Isolde, Parsifal, m

Here in the UK, the set consisted of 20 records (forty sides) was indeed issued in three volumes. Volume 3 consisted of 4 records L2203 to L2206. It is interesting to note that in the leaflet that Inigo has helpfully uploaded, L2203 is not mentioned. I assume that this is because side 1 of L2203 is ...

Re: Pathé diamond stylus question

Sorry to jump-in in this discussion but are we sure that we are talking about Edison Diamond Discs here? Surely wouldn't a diamond point fitted to a Pathe-type brass shank in a Pathé reproducer be playing at completely the wrong angle for an Edison Diamond Disc? I've never tried it so I don't know b...

Re: Elgar recording acoustically.

That's a lovely picture.

Beatrice Harrison also made the first recording of Elgar's Cello Concerto (or at least a truncated version of it) on HMV D541 and D545 in 1919 and 1920, which may well be what she is recording here.

Thanks for posting it, Epigramophone.
