nearly all notifications from the TMF going to spam

Post by fmblizz »

Any members have an issue like this?? I'm in New Jersey using Comcast and 90% of all notifications from THE TALKING MACHINE FORUM are going in my spam folder..

I have set up filter rules in my e-mail setting in both the sender and the subject line but nothing I do seems to address the problem.

Any advice would be appreciated.

What browser and email client are you using? gmail, yahoo, outlook...

Comcast is a "service provider", not a web browser or email client, but you may get your email through them... Obviously, whatever you have been using for years is not working with no problems or you wouldn't have started this thread.

FYI: there is no problem with the Forum that makes your notifications go to your spam folder... The problem is totally on your end, so figure out how to fix it yourself or open up a different, unrelated email account with gmail or outlook, etc...

Are you using Comcast’s web mail (that you use in your browser), or a mail program like Outlook or Thunderbird?

Honestly, I’d strongly encourage you to switch to Google—Gmail is a lot better e-mail service.

Ha,,, I should have said previously no problems as this has developed in the past year,,, not sure what has changed... Rarely get spam but the strange thing is the TMF is hit and miss like I said and most going into my spam folder rather then my INBOX.

Still using internet explorer..

As David said, open a Gmail account (it's free) and change your email to that.

Gary,

I agree with the Gmail suggestion. After 17 years of resisting the change, my email hosting service suddenly stopped accepting or delivering emails to AOL accounts. There was nothing I could do but change to Gmail. It takes a little time to adjust, especially at our ages, but worth the effort.

And, you can keep your old email account and monitor it until everybody legitimate is contacting you via Gmail. I still get an occasional, incoming email on the old account address, but 99% are SPAM. For some reason, I get very little SPAM on Gmail.
