Columbia 202 record album

Post by canyr »

Now that I've solved my brake problem, here's another question. Maybe some of you could answer.

Is the record album enclosed with the Columbia Viva-Tonal Grafonola 201 (I'm able to get a hold of this) the same as the one for the 202 model (which is what I'd need) ?

Thanks.

It is some years since I had a 201 and a 202 side by side for comparison, but I seem to remember that the albums were made in different widths.

These albums appear on UK ebay from time to time, and it is always worth asking the seller for the exact width if not already stated in the listing.

They are both the same height, but the album for the 201 is ten and a quarter inches wide, and the one for the 202 is ten and three quarters.

Thank you again Barry.
So the one for the 201 would fit into the 202 but would be loose I guess.

Not only will it be loose, it'll fall out! The holding brackets are not wide enough to hold the smaller album.
