Re: HMV model identifcation
It's something as model 113 or so, a colonial heavy portable with the motor no 32 or 34, and 5a/b soundbox. The seller is Hindi, isn't it?

Thanks ! the seller is in Cambridgeshire UK. Any ideas of value ? - never seen one before so I assume it is quite an unusual machine.

Yes, its a 113 or 113a. Its too heavy to be called a portable....unless there are 2 people carrying it I think it was termed "Transportable". The sound is really great. It was made for the colonial market in primarily India

The HMV 113 is essentially the same machine as the HMV 130, fitted in a larger (and heavier) teak box- It utilizes the 5A or 5B soundbox and the dual spring nr 32 motor. I enjoy playing it, it sounds good and the fretwork is very nice.
