What a Beautiful Machine. It looks alot like the 511, I wonder wich one is better? the 510 or the 511? The seller is asking 2800 Euro for this (2400 Pounds, 3150 dollars).

The price seems really high tho. I remember somebody telling me my 1500 euro Budget was enought to get A HMV 511 maybe?

How much are these Machines worth nowadays?

I hope someday I have the chance to purchase a beautiful Machine like this.

Seems very pricey to me. You should be able to get a 511 cheaper. I love my 511 and play it often.

The first 511s used cabinets originally built for the 510s. But the 511 turned out to be fairly popular, so new cabinets were built specifically for the 511. There are some minor differences between the 511s with repurposed 510 cabinets and the later ones with 511 cabinets (lid prop, motor board, etc.). The differences are shown in the "His Master's Gramophone" book.

My 511 has the repurposed 510 cabinet.

The price is too high, in particular for for a machine with a cracked diaphragm, as it seems to be in the photos. The 510 cabinet is nice looking, the machine has a 4-spring motor, and the Lumiere system has a nice sound, the drawback being the high drag that wears the records much more than normal tonearm machines. For that reason I rarely play it.

My 511s are my most played machines. Also, this Lumiere is extraordinarily expensive!

There was one on ebay uk, maybe 1 month ago, for 1500 if I remember correctly, with a better condition diaphragm but also ripped.

This is not how this works :D Only fools buy phonographs in a hurry. There is still some kind of agreed market value of phonographs, even if there is no other for sale at the moment, and one cranks up prices.
My assessment is based on lumieres sold in the last months. There is even one on leboncoin for 540, but that's a french oak table model.

I did spend far less than your budget on both machines combined. Just wait. The most pristine 511 should not be more than 600-800.
