It's much as I thought. Worth something as a novelty but I found the hammer price too much.

Thanks very much for the education about the Paillard hot air fans. Great to learn something new. I always imagined in the tropics that the Punkah was the air circulation standard for those who could afford "artificial air circulation". So the hot air fan, an early example of technology freeing people from lousy jobs. Punkah was the large room fan that a servant had to manually operate.

On the fun side......I think the foot operated fan....well gave you exercise, but maybe you stay cooler without the exertion of pedalling to make the fan work?
