Six spring motor?

I have attached an image of the motor inside a cabinet gramophone. I have never seen a six spring before. I guess it is a long play of perhaps 45 minutes. Would this be for public use? Has anyone seen this type before? Brian

I never knew such a motor existed.
I wonder if it might have been made for cinema use?
