Peter Pan with Celluloid Trumpet

Post by zippy »

I believe this is a Peter Pan Gramophone with a celluloid trumpet, according to this video
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3K8iHrs ... e=emb_logo). However, there is no nameplate on the box, and also the soundbox doesn't have the peter pan logo. But I have seen a similar soundbox from peter pan in one of the pictures in the national museum of Scotland.(https://www.nms.ac.uk/explore-our-colle ... one/217014) Are there any models that look like this from other manufacturers? What will be the price of this unit?

I don't think it's a Peter Pan , I have had these with celluloid resonators but I can't remember the maker ( age :D ) and also the soundbox isn't original to the machine and i s not a Peter Pan

Based on Mike's input, it appears your machine is probably a cobble. About 4 years ago, I purchased a very nice Kameraphone at the Union show with a similar, but not identical resonator for a little over $200 US if I recall correctly. The machine in your photo should be priced less than that, given its condition.

Thank you all for the replies. Yes, I checked the price of similar looking models in worthpoint website, and the maximum price is around $100.

We had one with the leather horn in our 6th grade class, the little machine sounded good. It belonged to a class mate. On another note, I sometimes when I try to post on TMF get an IP address is banned message, does others get this? I think it is a server issue and not anything else, My apologies!
