Thank you, Roger. I first thought it was a modern repro, because of the shiny metals. I also paid attention to the winding handle, that looked very Asian, reminded me of the winding handle found on Japan made Columbia portables. The elbow/bracket also looks very...different, and also different than on the Crown in this video, but apart from the elbow/bracket, they look very similar.

It looks and sounds fantastic... If crapophones were made today with such quality, I wouldn't mind buying one! Besides that, they seem to be gratefully suited for electrical records too!

It looks great, Inigo, I agree. Out of curiosity, I asked the seller for some more photos, and have received these two photos. To me the machine looks genuine, as we can see the nails around the window looks old. Does someone recognize the motor? I have looked at different Garrard motors online, and to me it seems to have similarities, but I can't see any Garrard logo on the motor?

I remember seeing a machine that might have been a Crown, in an antique store in Kuala Lumpur many years ago; but the tone arm had been badly repaired, and was too short, iirc.

No, I don't think it's original.
I don't know much about Pathé machines, but that tonearm looks nothing like any Pathé arm I recall seeing. I'm guessing the back bracket isn't right either.
I'm guessing the whole back bracket has been swapped for another brand.

A quick google image search for a Pathéphone no.8 brings up plenty of pictures of what the back bracket and tonearm should be.

Thank you Shane. I also tried google the machine, and found these photos, but still wanted to ask, in case this also was a different Pathé tonearm that was attached to this machine. The bracket and tonearm on your posted photo, looks familiar from some different Pathé machines I have seen online in the past, yes.

Would be interesting to see the name on the horn as it and the support and arm are not Pathé products

Unfortunately, I will never be able to check the tone arm and the horn, since it was sold in Sweden, and I left the machine when realizing it was not all Pathé. It now has been sold.
