Columbia but what ? Doesn't seem to use a Columbia motor

Yes, the case is a Columbia 101, which did not long survive the EMI merger, I think. Perhaps this is an export model, using up cabinets that were obsolete in the UK, with a tone-arm that could be HMV but certainly isn't Columbia. I'd expect the motor to be a Garrard, but it could be anything, sourced locally, if it was assembled overseas.
