That gramophone actually sounded very disappointing. The bell of the horn was copied from an EMG, but whatever the basis of the elongated saxophone section, it did nothing for it! The maker of it had also devised a spring-driven LP deck, with a Garrard spring motor geared down to a separate turntable by belt and pulley, but at 33 ⅓ rpm it wowed like hell!

Interesting... I have often thought of making one. Has anyone seen a water or steam driven phonograph? I had a stereoview of a water powered machine, but it didn't have enough details to show how it worked... it looked like it was hooked up to someones kitchen sink...
