What's that tatty thing on the wall

Post by kirtley2012 »

Here's a little guessing game of 'What's that tatty thing on the wall', some may get it easier than others, the sub-forum it's posted under is a clue!

It looks like something which dampened sound - so maybe something used in a recording studio which made the horn they used to record singing etc experience less distortion ?

Splendid Alex, I've guessed but will keep quiet - apart from saying - it was a different shape when in use. :D

Lumière diaphragm (or what's left of it after a cat fight)?

Yes! A deployed Lumiere diaphragm... I guessed it by the border with holes for the outer screws... It's clearly a circumference broken in pieces...

As Alex knows I didn't take part in this game as I had an unfair advantage here. I've seen this unique paper formation many times over the past 30 years having torn down more than my share of Lumiere diaphragms to replace them!

I'm looking forward to seeing your stage by stage progress, Alex. Shout if you get stuck!
