I occasionally see these but I don't understand which machines they were made for, when they were made etc. They seem odd to me.
I would be grateful if someone could provide some information about them.

They were in use on early front mount disc machines (trademark, early Monarch and more). The reproducer throat had to go into the leather elbow so it was a long one.
